Nestbys Code of Conduct

The baseline everyone agrees to when they join. Hosts can add their own reasonable house rules on top — but these baseline expectations always apply.

Hosts agree to

  • Treat guests as adultsHosts welcome guests as adult members of the household. Nestbys is for guests aged 18 and over — we do not host under-18s.
  • Give guests their own keyGuests must be given their own key (or equivalent secure access) so they can come and go independently and safely.
  • Fair access to common areasGuests must not be locked out of agreed shared spaces — for example the lounge room, kitchen, laundry, and the pool if there is one onsite — within reasonable, clearly agreed house rules and hours. House rules can set sensible expectations; they can't deny basic access to agreed common areas.
  • Reasonable privacy and noticeRespect the guest's privacy and reasonable enjoyment of their room, and give reasonable notice before entering it.

Guests agree to

  • Respect the propertyTreat the home and its contents with care, keep shared areas clean, and report any damage promptly. You're responsible for damage you cause beyond fair wear and tear.
  • Respect the householdBe considerate of the host and other residents — reasonable noise, guests and hours, as agreed in the house rules.
  • Communicate early and honestlyRaise issues early and keep communication on Nestbys so there's a clear shared record if anything needs sorting out.

Everyone agrees to

  • Meals are not includedAs standard, Nestbys homestays do not include meals, and Nestbys is not responsible for meals. If you'd like to share meals or split groceries, that's arranged privately and directly between host and guest.
  • Keep it on Nestbys until you connectDon't share contact or payment details until you and a host agree to go ahead and the connection fee is paid. Normal conversation about the room, move-in, costs, and expectations is always welcome. Sharing phone numbers, email addresses, or social handles before then moves trust and safety off-platform. Repeated attempts to share contact details will result in a temporary messaging pause, then a human review, and persistent behaviour can lead to permanent removal from Nestbys.
  • Safety and respect for everyoneNo harassment, discrimination or unlawful behaviour. Anyone can report a concern, and serious breaches can lead to removal from Nestbys.
